Financial Controller (Part-time)
Location
Reading, Berkshire
Company Responsibilities
- Accountability for UK Financial Operations to maintain the financial health of the Company
- Provide Group results to the senior team
- Coordinating and planning the budget and financial forecasts for UK
- Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
- Work with senior team UK and advise on financial decisions
- Provide strategic financial planning advise to Senior Management to support long term growth (monthly management meetings)
- Update and implement financial policies and procedures
- Supervision of Payables and Receivables accountants
- Manage 3rd parties to which accounting of finance functions have been outsourced
- Manage HMRC relations for PAYE and VAT liabilities
- Annual P11d preparation and filing and NIC payment
- Monitoring of cashflow for the UK companies
- Provide financial information for Director’s tax returns
- Monthly payroll management working with 3rd party payroll provider
- Pension management with 3rd party provider
- Reviewing Client contracts across the UK working with the senior team on fees and expenses, assisting with
- RFP queries at early stage
- Communicate with third parties that perform outsourced company functions.
Risk Management
- Maintain appropriate Insurance coverage – company car, public liability, professional indemnity cyber security, fixture and fittings
- Manage and comply with legal and regulatory requirements for HMRC and Companies House
- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
- Maintain relations with external auditors for the annual year end accounts preparation for the UKLtd companies
- Maintain relations with the bank and any lenders for the UK Ltd companies
Key Skills
The Finance Controller will have experience in a similar senior financial position
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic & dynamic individual
- Effective management & leadership experience
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced revenue-driven environment
- Strong negotiation skills
- Solid analytical and decision-making skills and strong financial acumen
- Proficient in the use of MS office and financial management software
- Understanding of the business operation
- Ability to forecast
- An eye for detail
- Sage or financial management software
Qualifications
- Desirable – Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/CIMA)
- Preferred – SME experience preferable
