The power of teamwork

Written by Zoe Phillips

As we begin a new quarter, I can’t help but look back at the last year and its highlights. 2018 was a year of growth for Berkeley. The agency has seen many exciting new clients come on board, giving us the opportunity to work on some really interesting and topical campaigns.

In 2018, we took on a big client which caused a buzz in the office. We quickly got to work on putting together research and enlisting an expert to speak with media contacts, for a sell in surrounding the topic of workplace happiness. This was without a doubt, the busiest week of the year.

The research we discussed with journalists detailed how 97% of UK office workers admit to feeling frustrated at work and 89% of them seek fulfillment at work. A further 89% also claimed they regularly think about switching jobs.

Naturally, when you’re selling in this type of research, it’s hard not to think about how it relates to you. Before you think that I am going to talk about how much we related to the research, let me tell you how it was quite the opposite.

The whole office was invested, and we even used a gong to share our promising leads and successes (and there were a lot of them). Positive office culture is so important and this shone through during a week that had the potential to overwhelm, instead, we thrived.

Finding supportive colleagues that you not only work well with but want to get to know, is vital for success. After all, we spend more time with our colleagues than we do with our family.

I have been lucky to work alongside passionate and entrepreneurial people last year who motivate me. If our team sounds like an enthusiastic group of people you would enjoy working with, do get in touch.
