I couldn’t do my best work employed in another agency, so I set up Berkeley. I felt then, as I do now, that the best stories aren’t the ones that flatter the client, but ones that inspire an audience. Ever since, I have evangelised the power of story. Our clients really get it because we get results.
There’s too many to speak of here, but I love working at a corporate messaging level with a diversity of organisations from Iron Mountain, Kaspersky Lab and NETGEAR, to ShowUp, Engage and Carus. I get equal pleasure working with smaller owner-managed businesses too – like Share A Mortgage and Digital Trip. I started my working life as a journalist and I guess it has never left me. The rules of storytelling apply across the board.
My job takes me everywhere. I have been lucky to work all over the world with many great people – across Europe, Asia and North America. The agency is my life’s work and great passion. But I make a point of switching off. Those are the times when I indulge in my other great passions like sailing, learning Spanish and cooking.
